Harm
Empowering women during pregnancy and postpartum through movement, mindfulness, and connection
HarmonizER
About HarmonizER
HarmonizER focuses on addressing the physical and mental health challenges faced by pregnant women and new mothers, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. The project responds to the widespread prevalence of maternal mental disorders, such as postpartum depression, which affect a significant portion of women during and after pregnancy. Recognizing the transformative and often overwhelming journey of motherhood, HarmonizER offers tailored programs incorporating yoga, Pilates, and mindfulness techniques to support women during this critical period.
Train the trainer
A central component of the project is the development and delivery of a Train the Trainer program in Greece, designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of instructors working with pregnant and postpartum women. This initiative ensures that the physical activities delivered are both safe and effective, addressing common concerns about injury or inadequate trainer expertise. Trainers will also be introduced to mindfulness-based practices, equipping them with holistic tools to support maternal well-being.
Our emphasis
Yoga
The yoga component emphasizes gentle, pregnancy-safe poses that support flexibility, breathing, and stress relief. Trainers will learn how to guide women through modifications that respect each stage of pregnancy and recovery
Pilates
The Pilates component focuses on strengthening the core, improving posture, and supporting pelvic floor health. Instructors will be trained to deliver low-impact routines that enhance stability and help manage common discomforts during and after pregnancy.
Mindfullness
The mindfulness component introduces techniques such as guided meditation, breathing exercises, and body awareness. Trainers will gain skills to help women manage anxiety, improve emotional balance, and foster a deeper connection to their changing bodies.
JOIN US
The project will deliver a variety of online resources, including live sessions and instructional videos, which will be freely accessible to participants across Europe. These digital tools are intended to reach women in rural or low-income areas who may lack access to traditional sports facilities. By reducing financial and geographic barriers, HarmonizER aims to create a more inclusive environment for physical and mental health support.
